EXPERIENCE: I have joined the Indian Revenue Service as a Superintendent of Central Excise and Customs in Pune Central Excise Commissioner ate in 1980.
As a Superintendent , I have worked in the different sections , holding different portfolios of the field formations such as Range, Technical, Classification, Valuation, Adjudication, Preventive , Appeals and Review.
As an Assistant / Deputy Commissioner , I was posted to different sections and have worked in the following sections of the Central Excise , Customs and the Service Tax for the period of more than 13 years. During the above period I was posted to various sections such as, Central Excise Division, Customs Division , Import Section , Export and Drawback Section, Baggage accompanied & un accompanied , Customs Anti smuggling Division, Preventive Section- Audit Section- Technical Section- Service Tax Section, Legal Section Statistical Section, Computer Section and Vigilance Section of the Mumbai Customs House and Mumbai, Pune and Belgaum & Aurangabad Commissioner ate . Besides the above field postings, I have worked in the Vigilance Section of the Ministry for the period of three years in Delhi
As a Joint & Additional Commissioner, I was working since 2002 up to 2006. During the above period I was supervising the divisional work including the Commissioner ate’s all sections and was directly reporting all types of matters/ disputes/ interpretations of the issues / cases/ proposals to the Commissioners,
I have left the job when I was posted to Aurangabad Central Excise Commissioner ate in May 2006. I am practicing lawyer now . Because of the long standing association with the Department we have friendly/ cordial relations with the Retired as well as with the Working officers at all levels
